Week 5 jumps run times unrealistically!

I really have liked this app for the most part, but something I find common to many apps like this is that they progress reasonably for about the first four weeks, and then jump running times unrealistically, even when you have absolutely been keeping up and working it faithfully. Example: Week Five, Day 1 has 5 min warm up walk / 5 min run / 3 min walk / 5 min run / 3 min walk / 5 min run / 5 min cool down. Week FIve, Day 2 goes to 5 min warm up walk / 8 min run / 3 min walk / 8 min run / 5 min cool down. And then Week Five, Day 3 has a 5 min warm up walk, / 20 straight minutes of running / and a 5 min cool down walk. Thats a HUGE jump in one week. And frankly, it makes me feel like quitting. I thought the point was to gradulally build up your endurance and skill. Debating about switching to a different app, or just parking on Week Three and living there. . . Are there ANY apps out there that really are suitable for middle-aged, non-athletic people who are working at liking exercise and being healthier? Thanks for a good first four weeks anyway. :-/

Why not 5: Even with app at front, it doesnt stop background book. Minimal coaching is still too much. Would be great to have simply "Run", "Walk", "Cool down", and "Stop". I can count. I dont need reminder that doing 1 of six runs mean I have only 5 left.

Best companion for the trip from couch to 30 minutes!

8 weeks ago, I went for my first run with this app. 25 runs later, I have not missed a single run day, last for 30 minutes sans walking and am absolutely overjoyed. Pluses: - achievable bites which truly will lead you to 30 uninterrupted minutes after 8 weeks. - reliable performance, no missed prompters, no clashes with music or audiobooks. - free Cons: None whatsoever. If, like me, you have been inactive for many more years than you care to remember but want to get (back) in shape, this app is for you. I can’t sing its praises loudly enough!

If you are a couch potato like me, you will love this app. This app got me running. I get excited about my running days. The voice is nice and gives simple commands. After this app, I will then move onto 5K to 10K app.

If it worked for this couch potato - itll work for anyone! I am still amazed that I managed to run 20 min continuously (Im on week 6). If youre consistent, you too will be running a 5k before you know it! (Do they have a 5k to 10k app?)

This app is amazing! I am only in week three right now but this app has taken me from hating to run to loving to run, cant wait until the next day that I get to run. Seriously, its a great app with a great coach and a totally doable pattern/program. Start this app- you wont be sorry!

Love the app, just wish it had audio for a final run with some sort of congratulations for finishing the program.

I was a devout anti-runner. I could not understand why anyone would willing run, especially with nothing changing him or her. This app got me off my lazy butt and running a 5k! Me! Someone who vowed never to take up running! Please please please make a 10k version. The other 10k apps arent nearly as good as this 5k app.

Great Motivator

I love the timely information the coach gives along the way. Not only does it prep you for the next run, it is very encouraging as well. (Not too much...just right!) It gets me through the run of the day even when sometimes I dont think Im going to make it. Worth every penny!!

Absolutely worth paying for.

This app is fantastic. Great audio recordings (even as a lady I love the Aussie female), intuitive and beautiful run UI, allows you to skip through events in a run if for some reason you need to. Dims music during speech when I use Nike+ Running to track my run. Overall very happy with this. Now if they make a 10k version, or a marathon one, Ill pounce on it immediately.

Best $2.99 spent in my life.

Worth it!!

Please make a 10K version of this app. It is a wonderful motivator!! Been using for 2 weeks and will be running my first 5K in 3 weeks. I havent been following the breaks youre suggested to but I have found the app incredibly motivating and fun!! Worth the money!
