Very effective

Love this app, it makes going from not running to running 5K very doable. I needed someone to tell me when to walk and when to run. I didnt give it 5 stars only because I wish it had the option of a longer warmup and cool down on the days when I have time.

Awesome!!

I just finished this app and if you want to learn to run this is the app to get. I couldnt run 30 seconds when I started and I just signed up for my first 5k. I hope it only grows from here.

Just what I needed

This app really helped me go from cant run around the block to running 3 miles. Program is nice and gradual and its great to have a trainer telling you what to do! Now that I am a runner I need more but it was exactly what I needed to get going. Well done!

Could be better

First off let me say I do love this app. But it needs a couple of upgrades and glitches fixed before it is a great app. One. Even tho the app says it will pause your music when the coach talks, it just doesnt. No matter how you set it up the app simply will not pause your iTunes. But my second issue is the deal breaker for me. There is no distance function, so you have no way to record your runs and distance. For a "couch to 5K" app theres no way to know how far youre running or how close you are to your goal. That means you have to have a second running app running at the same time if you want that information. And whats the point of that?

I had to do week 1 twice, but I did it. Update: Today I finished my first run of week 2. This is so great… !!! Update: I just finished my first run of week 4. As with the first run of each of the previous three weeks, I thought sure I would die. But I didnt. Im alive and feeling great. Update: Today I finished the last run of week 5: my first 20 minute jog... with no walking. This time, I did not feel like I was about to die. Aside: while I had to repeat week 1, I havent had to repeat any weeks since. This is so cool! P.S. Im a 76 (not 72) year old codger.

This is the best app Ive used

I have tried several couch to 5K apps and this one is the best by far. I actually ran 2 miles today which seemed impossible a few weeks ago...

Good app to get started, but...

Ive used this app for 3 years now. Mostly to jump start my training after long breaks from running. Great! But one flaw that this app has is that it doesnt track distance. It only tracks 30 minute runs without taking into account that everyone runs at a different pace. After simultaneously using another app that tracks time, pace, and distance, I soon realized that this app left me a few feet short of running an actual 5K. This is a great app is a great aid for beginners and those who need a refresher with running a 5K. Use another app simultaneously with this one to more accurately measure your runs and youre good to go!!!!

It really works!!

This app is so wonderful- me and my husband started this program back in September, and are both now running 30 min non-stop three times a week! (Still working on our speed!) Ive never been someone who loves running, and when Ive tried running in the past, been met with excruciating knee pain within the first three weeks. This app really helped me start slow and easy, and pushed me when I needed it. Many times I didnt think I could do the run it had scheduled for me, but I surprised myself and was always able to! Very happy with the results, highly recommend to anyone wanting to go from couch to 5k!! Worth every penny!

Motivates this couch potato

Im so thankful for this app! The voice and graphics are pleasant, but most importantly, it works! Ive gotten fit without hurting myself or becoming discouraged. I can listen to a podcast, check this apps display, read my email, etc., and this app keeps working in the background, only interrupting when needed, and my podcast or music keeps playing. Its seamless.

Great for recovery

I love this app - simple and effective. I had an injury and always returned to run too hard - so I committed to following the program. It allowed me to moderate and build up strength without re- injury. Couldnt be happier.

Fantastic!

Very motivational, easy to use, my music can play in the background, never has crashed (now I, on the other hand...). Now I am an advancing runner and I use the app to time a faster running pace with jogging instead of walking in between the runs. This app has been worth the money--get it!

Great to help get your butt off the couch

Has really helped me to start running. Maybe ramps up a little bit quick from week 3 to 4 but its helping me a lot.

A bit optimistic

As an app it works well enough. The first couple weeks are fine but as the program goes on it feels like Run, Fatboy, Run. I wish it scaled up slower. I dont need to run a 5k in 2 months just eventually. Also sometimes the app will pause. Could be my fault but also might not be.

Distance missing

Even though Im giving 5 stars, I wish this app should show the distance in each run/walk. I truly enjoy this app and it has worked very well in get me running, but allowing us to know the distance of each run/walk would be a great and motivational feature!

Highly recommend this app

I have attempted to start running many times before, and have always hated it. This app changed all that, and got me seriously hooked on running. It pushes you just the right amount, so that you are progressing but not getting discouraged. I had no trouble finishing, and have since (several months later) completed my first half marathon and am training for a full. My 54 year old father has also just completed the program, and loved it as well. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get in shape, or wants to start running!

Absolute perfection

This really does help you get from the couch to actually loving running. Im addicted. It helped me get into shape with my baby. In all honesty, I abandoned my efforts a couple of times but always came back because this app was so easy to use. This app is the business!!

Really like this app, Claire is great

Im trying to get back to running, after laying off for far too many years. I started with the C25K free app, which I liked, but couldnt upgrade due to my iPod Touch being unable to run the required software version. I found Get Running, and I love it. I like the visual display that lets me know how far along am, as I can read it without my glasses. The sound prompts that let me know Im halfway through a run, or that Ive only got 15 seconds more, are great and help me keep going.

Got me running for the first time in my life

After being that kid in grade school who came in last for running the mile, Im now running 28 minutes straight in my 8th week of running. The pacing of the running increases is perfect. Every time the intervals increased, I thought I couldnt do it, but I did. It feels great. I hope to keep increasing after the 9th week to 40 minutes, then just increase speed.
